5 effective strategies
to generate "repeat business" YEAR ROUND
STRATEGY ONE
1. BROADCASTING: RINGLESS VOICE DROPS, SMS CHAT (SMS MESSAGING) & PHONE BROADCASTING
plan & compose (overview)
Three of the most effective ways currently being used to stay connected and earn repeat business is Ringless Voice Drops (RVDs), SMS Messaging and Phone broadcasting (PB). When done right (i.e. a short compelling message with a clear "call to action" is delivered) they are extremely effective. These three strategies are 100% compliant with the recent FTC/FCC changes that were made in the summer of 2015. Of course, that's if compliant broadcasting software is used and best businesses practices are exercised when composing and delivering the message. SMS messaging (through your own dedicated SMS chat phone number) will give you an opportunity to not only send out promotional information but it also gives you an opportunity to respond to any questions (certain rules apply). These 3 methods of connecting with your dormant or non-responsive customers/clients is ideal for the B2C niche. It can also work for the B2B niche. However, B2B follow ups need a little more thought and planning. The best part of all this is you can outsource or do it all yourself. I use RVD & PB software for my Networking business and would be willing do 100% of the work for you for a small fee or I can show how to do all the work yourself for which there would no charge just a one-hour limit on my time. Let me explain what is involved for your RVD & PB campaigns to be successful whether you do it or I do it is simply a list of phone numbers for your customers/clients (no name or address is needed so your customer's "privacy" would remain in tact if you farm this out). You need to know the goal of your message. For example, do you want recipients to press an option (1-8) to connect directly with you or a member of your team or to your customer service staff; do you want to leave the recipient with your call back number so they can call you back at their convenience; do you want the recipient to visit your website or blog; place an order online; visit your bricks & mortar store or office to take advantage of a promo? The broadcast can do any of those things. The is always to keep your message short, concise and compelling (preferably no longer than 30 seconds). This will encourage your customer to listen tot he entire message and to follow through on whatever you are asking. The longer the message the less likely the recipient is to listen to the call all the way to the end (studies have proven this).
If you want to record your own message but don't have the broadcasting software you free to send me a wav.file and csv.file and I will broadcast your message for you. |
![]() delivering A compelling message
Now that the planning and composing is complete, you will now need to schedule your message for delivery. The software I use is programmed to recognize cell phone numbers and landline numbers. That means, a landline number will never be sent out my through ringless voice drop software and cell phone numbers will never be sent out through my phone broadcaster - they have been set up that way to remain compliant with FTC & FCC compliant (this is why it is better to keep cell phone numbers and landline numbers separate them if at all possible).
Here are some "CALL TO ACTION" to think about prior to sending your compelling message. Do you want to... 1. Have them press a specific number to speak with someone, live transfer. [HOT LEAD] 2. Leave a call-back phone number for a later call back at a later time or date. 3. Leave a website address for them to browse or place an order. 4. Leave a promo/discount code (specify end date) 5. Leave a physical address for them to visit? Any promo or discount codes given out should be time-sensitive to give out during your broadcast (if appropriate). Remember, your "Call to Action" must give them a clear understanding of what you want them to do unless it is simply a - "Gratitude Message" (you will benefit from the laws of reciprocity). - "Holiday Message" (patronage through emotions by making sure your name is always kept at the forefront of their mind). Even a simple Happy Mother's Day or Happy Father's Day message can go a long way when trying to connect with people's emotions. Points 2 & 3 are classic examples of EMOTIONAL BUYING (feelings of loyalty, gratitude, comfort, security or happiness). Studies shows that positive emotions can often propel people into taking action much faster. |
