Do you use a key fob for your company vehicle or personal car? If you answered "yes" please read on to learn how you can reduce the risk of vehicular theft. Please also share the information with employees, co-workers, family & friends. Although digital technology is a blessing, it is increasingly becoming a real security hazard. It appears that many people are unaware of the little security loophole that I am about to share with you. It applies to your car and anything valuable inside it. If you use a key fob (and many people do), car thieves can very easily steal your car using a special radio device to intercept the signal. Driving off with your car is as easy as 1,2,3 for car thieves - unlock the door, start the car, drive off. Or best case scenario you'll get lucky and they will leave the car and just steal the contents. Don't despair, the quick and easy solution is to either wrap the fob in aluminum foil. The metal actually blocks the signals that give the prospective thief access. Or you can also put the key fob in the fridge or microwave. However, I think most would go with wrapping it in foil. In fact I would suggest carrying a little foil with you every time you leave the office/house. If you do not like any of these suggestions, you can always purchase a Faraday key shield or any similar device. Hope that was a helpful tip (assuming you were unaware of this problem). Protect what's rightfully yours! Old Chinese proverb .... "if you know something of value you have a moral obligation to share it with others" Comments are closed.
